One Education Per Childhood

Children only have one chance at receiving a good education.

Education is more than just about learning to read, write, and do arithmetic. A Christian education also teaches students social skills, develops their character, and most importantly, challenges them to commit their life to God.

While public education may be academically robust, it neglects moral and spiritual development.

Education with no moral guiding principles will not provide children a foundation on which to build a successful life.

Our Vision for Education

An education at Bourbon Christian School is distinguished by our compassion for our students, our high academic standards, and our desire to see our students grow in favor with God and with their fellow man.

Our love for our students drives our staff to not cut corners on our academic standards, but with compassion teach the students the content they need to know in order to succeed at life. At the same time, that compassion also compels us to help our students grow socially as well.

Living well in community means you need more than just knowledge about the various subjects, you also need godly character and good social skills. The guiding principals for all of these areas is God's Word.

FAQ

Does BCS offer any extracurricular activities?

While we do not offer programs like organized sports or band, etc, our small student to teacher ratio gives homeroom teachers the opportunity to pay individual attention to each of their students. We do have weekly music and art classes for elementary students, and weekly music and choir classes for grades 7-12.

How expensive is tuition?

Tuition charged to parents is well below the actual cost per student. Clay Street Church significantly subsidizes the actual cost of tuition. The cost for each student is $4,125.00 (2023 rate) regardless of grade level. Small discounts apply for families with more than one student.

Is BCS accredited?

While our school is not state accredited, we have been members of several Christian Education organizations including ACSI, and ACE. Additionally, all of our full-time staff have had college training and annually attend professional development seminars and training sessions from various Christian education institutions.

Why is the parent agreement so conservative?

Our parent agreement is intentionally conservative to reflect the values of its sponsoring church: Clay Street Amish Mennonite Church. Families who attend Bourbon Christian School should primarily be concerned about obeying and following the simple, literal teachings of Christ in every aspect of their lives.
